Liability surveys
Analyse employer’s liability exposures, particularly workplace hazards such as slips/trips, manual handling, work at height, cuts/burns/scalds, noise, workplace transport, use of machinery/plant and use of hazardous substances. Consider all significant hazards that apply, not just those which are typical of the survey subject’s trade sector. Examine and assess health and safety documentation.
Assess public liability exposures and management – internal and external features that affect safety at own premises (particularly emergency escape) and pollution risks. Consider work carried out at third party sites and how this could affect third parties.
Consider product liability exposure from the range and type of products made and/or supplied, looking for safety-critical items, supply into trade sectors with major loss potential such as automotive, aerospace, oil/gas industries. Consider products hazards, management and design.
